ARQ 50th Anniversary – Hilversum, Netherlands
On the 28th and 29th September 2023, the ARQ National Psychotrauma Center (based in the Netherlands) celebrated their 50th anniversary during an international conference “Trauma, Crisis and Conflict: Connecting Research and Practice”. The conference was held in Hilversum, the Netherlands. The primary aim of the conference was to share knowledge and discuss important topics related to the recognition, prevention and treatment of trauma, crisis and conflict on a global perspective.
Eric BUI, Charlotte HILBERDINK, Thomas LE FRANCOIS (all University of Caen Normandy, France), and our invited guest speaker Manik Djelantik (University Medical Center in Utrecht, the Netherlands) all presented during an overarching symposium Mindfulness for Stressor-Related Disorders: From Neurobiology to Evidence-Based Treatments on the possible underlying neurobiology of efficacy of mindfulness-based programs, potential adaptations for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and prolonged grief disorder (PGD), testing their efficacy, and potential implementation in trauma-exposed and bereaved communities.
